The following summary of planned new and on-going road improvements over the coming week is correct as of 3 June but could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.
M1 junction 19, Leicestershire: road improvement scheme
From Monday 6 June to Friday 11 June, the M1 southbound from junction 20, the M1 northbound from junction 19 and the A14 westbound lane 1 leading to the A14-M1 northbound link road will be closed overnight from 9pm until 6am.
The diversion will be as follows: A14 to M1 northbound traffic will continue north on the M6, exit at junction 1, head north-east up the A426 and join the M1 northbound at junction 20.
M1 southbound traffic will exit at junction 20, head south-west down the A426 to M6 junction 1, then travel east to re-join the M1 at junction 19.
M1 northbound traffic will be diverted up the M6, exit at junction 1, head north-east up the A426 and re-join the M1 at junction 20.
M1 junction 32 to 35a, Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire/Yorkshire: smart motorway
Until winter 2016, there will be various restrictions in place on the M1 between junctions 28 and 35a to allow for the construction of the smart motorway. These include lane closures, speed restrictions, hard shoulder running and overnight slip road or carriageway closures.
On Monday 6 June, the southbound exit slip road at junction 32 and the northbound entry slip road at junction 30 will be closed overnight from 8pm until 6am.
On Tuesday 7 June, the southbound exit slip road at junction 32 and the northbound entry slip road at junction 30 will be closed overnight from 8pm until 6am. On Wednesday 8 June, the northbound entry slip road at junction 31 will be closed overnight from 8pm until 6am.
On Saturday 11 June, the northbound entry and exit slip road at junction 35 and 35a will be closed overnight from 8pm until 6am.
M69 junction 2, Leicestershire: carriageway repairs
The exit slip road will be closed overnight until 20 June between 8pm and 6am.
A1 Little Ponton to Colsterworth, Lincolnshire: safety improvements
The northbound and southbound slip roads will be closed overnight until 10 June between 8pm and 6am. Diversion routes will be signposted.
A1 Tuxford, Nottinghamshire: drainage works
The slip roads will be closed overnight until 25 June between 7pm and 6am. Diversion routes will be signposted.
A46 Glenfields, Leicestershire: resurfacing works
The slip road will be closed overnight from 6 June until 8 June between 7pm and 6am. Diversion routes will be signposted.
