Planned roadworks in East Midlands: weekly summary for Monday 28 March to Sunday 3 April 2016

The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of 24 March but could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.

M1 junction 19 Catthorpe, Leicestershire: improvement scheme

On Tuesday 29 March the following lane and road closures will take place from 8pm to 6am (Wed AM).

Lane 1 of A14 westbound and A14 to M6 link road:

  • A14 eastbound
  • M1 to M6 northbound link road
  • M1 southbound lane 1 and exit slip road
  • M6 southbound lane 3 and M6 to A14 link road
  • M1 northbound lane 1 The diversions will be as follows:

M1 to M6 northbound traffic and A14 to M6 northbound traffic will continue north up the M1 to junction 20, head south-west on the A426 and join the M6 at junction 1.

A14 eastbound traffic will continue south on the M1 to junction 15, then head east up the A45 to join the A14 at junction 13.

On Wednesday 30 March the following lane and road closures will take place from 8pm to 6am (Thurs AM).

  • Lane 1 of A14 westbound and A14 to M6 link road
  • A14 eastbound
  • M1 to M6 northbound link road
  • M1 southbound lane 1 and exit slip road
  • M6 southbound from junction 1
  • M1 northbound lane 1

The diversions will be as follows:

M1 to M6 northbound traffic and A14 to M6 northbound traffic will continue north up the M1 to junction 20, head south-west on the A426 and join the M6 at junction 1.

M6 southbound traffic will exit at junction 1, head north-east up the A426 and join the M1 at junction 20.

A14 eastbound traffic will continue south on the M1 to junction 15, then head east up the A45 to join the A14 at junction 13.

On Thursday 31 March the following lane and road closures will take place from 8pm to 6am (Fri AM).

  • Lane 1 of A14 westbound and A14 to M6 link road
  • M1 to M6 northbound link road
  • M1 northbound lane 1

The diversion will be as follows:

M1 to M6 northbound traffic and A14 to M6 northbound traffic will continue north up the M1 to junction 20, head south-west on the A426 and join the M6 at junction 1.

On Friday 1 April the following lane and road closures will take place from 9pm to 6am (Sat AM).

  • M1 to M6 northbound link road
  • A14 westbound lane 1
  • M1 northbound lane 1

The diversion will be as follows:

M6 northbound traffic will continue north up the M1 to junction 20, head south-west on the A426 and join the M6 at junction 1.

M1 junction 28 to 35a, Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire/Yorkshire: smart motorway

Until winter 2016, there will be various restrictions in place on the M1 between junctions 28 and 35a to allow for the construction of the smart motorway. These include lane closures, speed restrictions, hard shoulder running and overnight slip road or carriageway closures.

On Tuesday 29 March, overnight closures will be in place on the southbound junction 31 up and overbetween 8pm and 6am:

On Thursday 31 March, the following overnight closures will be in place between 8pm and 6am:

  • The southbound M18 to M1 northbound link closed
  • The southbound junction 29a SB entry slip road closed

On Friday 1 April, the southbound junction 32 exit slip road will be closed overnight between 8pm and 6am:

A14 junction 10 to 9, Northamptonshire: carriageway resurfacing

On Friday 1 April the westbound carriageway will be closed from 8pm to 5am (Sat AM).

A14 junction 10 to 12, Northamptonshire: carriageway resurfacing

On Friday 1 April the eastbound carriageway will be closed from 8pm to 6am (Sat AM).

A46 Newark on Trent, Nottinghamshire: bridge works

On Tuesday 29 March the northbound carriageway will be closed from 8pm to 6am (Wed AM).
