The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of 3 June but could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.

M3 junctions 2 (M25) to 4a Farnborough, Hampshire: Smart motorway improvement

Work to reduce congestion and improve journey times continues this week with narrow lanes, a contraflow and a 50mph speed limit in place on both carriageways between junctions 2 and 4a, with a free recovery service operating 24 hours a day until the end of 2016.

The link road from the M3 southbound to the M25 clockwise will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 5.30am, from Monday 6 June for 5 nights. Work on Friday will take place between 8pm and 7am. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the M3 southbound and M25 junction 11.

The southbound carriageway between junctions 3 and 4 including junction 3 entry slip road will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 5.30am, from Monday 6 June for 5 nights. Work on Friday will take place between 8pm and 7am. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A322, A30 and A331.

M3 junctions 9 to junction 11 Winchester, Hampshire: vegetation clearance

Work to maintain safety by cutting back overgrown vegetation alongside the M3 takes place this week. Lane 3 of both carriageways will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 6 June for 3 nights.

M3 junction 14 Chilworth, Hampshire: road marking

Work to improve journeys by renewing the road markings along the M3 continues this week. The southbound link from the M3 to the M27 westbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 6 June for 2 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via M27 junction 5. In addition, the M3 northbound carriageway from the Chilworth roundabout to junction 13 and the link from the M27 westbound carriageway to the M3 northbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Wednesday 8 June for 3 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via Stoneham Lane and Passfield Avenue (Eastleigh).

M4 junctions 5 Slough to 7 Maidenhead, Berkshire: drainage and verge survey

Work to maintain safety by carrying out drainage and verge surveys continues this week. Lane closures will be in place on both carriageways overnight, between 9pm and 6am, until the autumn (Monday to Friday only).

M4 junctions 8/9 Maidenhead to 11 Reading / Wokingham, Berkshire: drainage and verge survey

M4 junction 12 Reading, Berkshire: A4/Ikea resurfacing

Work to resurface the A4 and the junction 12 roundabout as part of the Ikea development completes this week. All slip roads at the junction will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, from Monday 6 June for 5 nights. Clearly signed diversions will be in place via junctions 11 (Reading) and 13 (Chieveley).

M27 junction 12 to A27 Portsmouth, Hampshire: communications technology improvement

Work to improve journeys by reconnecting traffic flow sensors takes place this week. The eastbound carriageway between M27 junction 12 and the A2030 Eastern Road junction will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Wednesday 8 June. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A3 and A2030. In addition, the link from the M275 northbound carriageway to the A27 eastbound carriageway will be closed during the same period with a clearly signed diversion in place via M27 junction 12 and the A3/A2030.

The A27 westbound carriageway from the Bedhampton/Harts Farm junction to the A2030 Eastern Road junction will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Thursday 9 June. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A2030. In addition, the link from the A3(M) southbound carriageway to the A27 westbound carriageway will be closed during the same period with a clearly signed diversion in place via the A2030.

M275 Portsmouth, Hampshire: road marking

Work to improve journeys by renewing the road markings completes this week. The eastbound link from the M27 to the M275 southbound, including the eastbound entry slip road at M27 junction 12, will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, until Tuesday 7 June. Clearly signed diversions will be in place via the A2030 Eastern Road roundabout and M27 junction 11.

A3 Horndean to Weston, Hampshire: drainage and signage maintenance

Work to ensure road user safety by carrying out maintenance to the drainage and signage along the A3 takes place this week. Lane 1 of the southbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 6 June for 2 nights.

A3 Sheet Link/Midhurst, Hampshire: drainage maintenance

Work to ensure road user safety by carrying out maintenance to the drainage along the A3 takes place this week. The northbound exit slip road will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Wednesday 8 June. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the Liss junction.

A3 Griggs Green to Liphook, Hampshire: vegetation clearance

Work to maintain safety by cutting back overgrown vegetation alongside the A3 takes place this week. Lane 2 of both carriageways will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Thursday 9 June for 2 nights.

A31 Poulner Hill to Ringwood, Hampshire: street lighting

Work to ensure road user safety by maintaining the lighting along the A31 takes place this week. Lane closures will be in place on both carriageways overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 6 June for 4 nights.

In addition, the slip roads at the A338 Ringwood interchange will be individually closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on various nights during the same period. Clearly signed diversion will be in place either via the Ashley Heath Roundabout or Poulner Hill junction.

A34 Tufton Warren (near Whitchurch), Hampshire: vegetation clearance

Work to maintain safety by cutting back overgrown vegetation alongside the A34 takes place this week. Lane 2 of both carriageways will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Monday 6 June.

A34 Highclere, Hampshire: vegetation clearance

Work to maintain safety by cutting back overgrown vegetation alongside the A34 takes place this week. Lane 2 of both carriageways will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Tuesday 7 June.

A34 Speen to Chieveley, West Berkshire: vegetation clearance

Work to maintain safety by cutting back overgrown vegetation alongside the A34 takes place this week. Lane 2 of both carriageways will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Wednesday 8 June for 2 nights.

A34 Chilton interchange, Oxfordshire: junction improvement

Work to improve journey times and safety by constructing new slip roads and improving the layout of the Chilton interchange continues this week. The northbound exit slip road will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, until the end of June (Monday to Friday only). A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the Milton Interchange. Work is due to be completed in summer 2016.

A303 Micheldever, Hampshire: vegetation clearance

Work to maintain safety by cutting back overgrown vegetation alongside the A303 takes place this week. Lane 2 of both carriageways will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Friday 10 June.

A303 Parkhouse Cross, Wiltshire: resurfacing

Work to improve road user journeys by resurfacing the westbound exit slip road at the junction takes place this week. The westbound exit slip road will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Tuesday 7 June. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the Amesbury Roundabout.
