Planned roadworks in Central Southern England: Weekly summary for Monday 3 – Sunday 9 November 2014

The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of 31 October 2014 but could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.

M27 junctions 2 to 3 River Blackwater Ower, Hampshire: Re-waterproofing

The eastbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, on Sunday 2 November. The westbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, on Monday 3 November. Clearly signed diversions will be in place via the A326, A35 and M271.

From 6am Tuesday 4 November narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit will be in place for 12 weeks.

M27 junction 5 Eastleigh, Hampshire: Junction improvement

Narrow lanes and a reduced speed limit will be in place while junction improvement work takes place. For further details of this scheme visit this website.

M27 junction 8 Bursledon, Hampshire: Slip road marking renewal

The eastbound exit slip road will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, on Thursday 6 November. The westbound exit slip road will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, on Friday 7 November. Clearly signed diversions will be in place via junctions 7 and 9.

M27 junction 12 Portsmouth, Hampshire: Road surface repair

The westbound entry slip road will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, for two nights from Monday 3 November. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A2030 Eastern Road.

M3 junction 6 Black Dam improvement Basingstoke, Hampshire

Narrow lanes and a 30mph speed limit will be in place on the approaches and around the roundabout. For more information, visit the Highways Agency’s website.

M4 junctions 5 Slough, Berkshire to 15 Swindon, Wiltshire: Road marking renewal

Lane closures will be in place along various sections of the M4 in both directions overnight, between 10pm and 6am, until Friday 14 November (Monday to Friday only).

M4 junctions 8/9 Maidenhead to 11 Reading, Berkshire: Bridge maintenance

Narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit are in place on the east and westbound carriageways.

M4 junctions 13 Chieveley to 14 Hungerford, West Berkshire: Resurfacing work

Lane closures will be in place on the eastbound carriageway overnight, between 10pm and 6am, until Friday 7 November, and on the westbound carriageway until Monday 24 November (Monday to Friday only).

A3 Hampshire: Road marking renewals

Overnight slip road closures will be in place, between 10pm and 6am, as follows:

  • Monday 3 November – Chalton north and southbound entry and exit slip roads
  • Tuesday 4 November – Queen Elizabeth Country Park northbound entry slip road
  • Wednesday 5 November – Flexcombe Interchange northbound exit slip road
  • Thursday 6 November – Griggs Green northbound exit and entry slip roads
  • Friday 7 November – Liphook Services northbound exit and entry slip roads

Clearly signed diversions will be in place via the next available junction.

A3 Berelands to A3(M) Petersfield to Horndean, Hampshire: Road marking renewal

The A3 southbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, on Monday 27 October. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A272 and A32.

A3 Hindhead Tunnel, Surrey: Maintenance

Both bores will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 9am, on Saturday 8 November. A fully signed diversion route will be in place via the A31 and A325.

The northbound and southbound exit slip roads and the southbound Sheet Link will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, on Friday 7 November. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the B2070.

A303 North Waltham, Hampshire to Parkhouse Cross, Wiltshire: Sign renewal

Lane closures will be in place overnight, between 10pm and 6am, as follows:

  • Monday 3 November: eastbound carriageway between Bullington Cross and Overton
  • Tuesday 4 November: eastbound carriageway at Thruxton village
  • Wednesday 5 November: westbound carriageways between North Waltham and Micheldever
  • Thursday 6 November: eastbound carriageway between Picket Twenty and Bullington Cross
  • Friday 7 November: eastbound carriageway between Thruxton and Parkhouse Cross

A303 Hampshire: Road marking renewals

The following eastbound slip roads will be closed overnight, between 10pm to 6am, with clearly signed diversions in place using the next suitable junction:

  • Monday 3 November: (Thruxton to Parkhouse Cross) A338 Parkhouse Cross entry slip road, Thruxton race-circuit entry slip road, and Thruxton village entry slip road
  • Tuesday 4 November: (Andover to Thruxton) Thruxton village exit and entry slips roads and Sarsons Lane eastbound access
  • Wednesday 5 November: (Longparish to Barton Stacey) Barton Stacey exit and entry slip roads
  • Thursday 6 November: Bullington Cross exit and entry slip roads
  • Friday 7 November: (Bullington Cross to Overton) Upper Norton exit and entry slips and Overton Interchange exit slip road

A303 Bullington to Andover, Hampshire: Resurfacing work

The carriageway will be closed between the A34 and the A3093 Picket Twenty junction overnight, between 10pm and 6am, on the following nights:

  • Tuesday 4 November for three nights – westbound carriageway
  • Friday 7 November – eastbound carriageway

A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A343, Wash Common and the A34.

A34 Hampshire, West Berkshire and Oxfordshire: Road marking renewals

Lane closures will be in place along various sections of the A34 north and southbound carriageways overnight, between 10pm and 6am until Wednesday 19 November.

A34 Winchester (M3 J9) to Bullington Cross (A303), Hampshire: Drainage repairs

The northbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, on Monday 3 November. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A33 and A303.

A34 Whitchurch (River Test), Hampshire: Drainage repairs

There will be a lane closure in both directions overnight, between 10pm and 6am, for three nights from Tuesday 4 November.

A34 Abingdon (A415) to Peartree Interchange (A44), Oxfordshire: Sign renewals

Varied lane closures will be in place in both directions overnight, between 10pm and 6am, for ten nights from Monday 3 November (Monday to Friday only).

A34 Weston-on-the-Green, Oxfordshire: Surface repairs

The northbound exit and entry slip roads will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, on Monday 3 November. Clearly signed diversions will be in place via the next available junctions.

A34/M40 junction 9 Wendlebury, Oxfordshire: Junction improvement

Narrow lanes and a 40mph speed limit will be in place 24 hours a day, until December 2014. There are also overnight lane closures on the A34, A41 and on the roundabout.
