Planned roadworks in Central Southern England: Weekly summary for Monday 10 – Sunday 16 November 2014

The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of 7 November 2014 but could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.

M27 junctions 2 to 3 River Blackwater Ower, Hampshire: Re-waterproofing

Narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit will be in place for 12 weeks. For further information visit the road project web page

M27 junction 5 Eastleigh, Hampshire: Junction improvement

Narrow lanes and a reduced speed limit will be in place while junction improvement work takes place. One lane of the eastbound exit slip road will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, for four nights from Tuesday 11 November. Stoneham Way will be closed in both directions overnight, between 8pm and 6am, for two nights from Tuesday 11 November. Wide Lane will be closed in both directions overnight, between 8pm and 6am, for two nights from Thursday 13 November. Clearly signed diversions will be in place at these times. M27 junction 11 Fareham, Hampshire: Road surface repair

The eastbound entry slip road will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, on Wednesday 12 November. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A27.

M3 junction 2 (Thorpe) to 4a (Farnborough): Smart motorway improvements

Narrow lanes, a contra-flow and a 50mph speed limit will be in place on both carriageways between junctions 2 and 4a, with a free recovery service operating 24 hours a day until the end of 2016. There will be additional lane and slip road closures overnight, between 10pm and 6am as follows: Monday 10 November:westbound between junctions 2 and 3 Tuesday 11 November: westbound between junctions 2 and 3 Wednesday 12 November: westbound between junctions 3 and 4 Thursday 13 November: –westbound between junctions 3 and 4a Friday 14 November: westbound between junctions 4 and 4a and between junctions 2 and 3, including the M25 links to the M3 Saturday 15 November: westbound between junctions 2 and 3, including the M25 link roads to the M3 A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A30. M3 junction 6 Black Dam improvement Basingstoke, Hampshire

M4 junctions 5 Slough, Berkshire to 15 Swindon, Wiltshire: Road marking renewal

Lane closures will be in place along various sections of the M4 in both directions overnight, between 10pm and 6am, until Friday 14 November (Monday to Friday only).

M4 junctions 8/9 Maidenhead to 11 Reading, Berkshire: Bridge maintenance

M4 junctions 13 Chieveley to 14 Hungerford, West Berkshire: Resurfacing work

Lane closures are in place on the westbound carriageway overnight, between 10pm and 6am, until Monday 24 November (Monday to Friday only).

A404(M) junction 9a Cox Green, Berkshire: Pedestrian refuge island repairs

The northbound exit and entry slip roads will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, on Friday 14 November. Clearly signed diversions will be in place via the next available junction.

A27 Bedhampton Portsmouth: Road marking renewals

The westbound exit and entry slip roads will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, on Tuesday 11 November. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A2030 Eastern Road or Langstone Interchange.

A3 Surrey: Road marking renewals

Overnight slip road closures will be in place overnight, between 10pm and 6am, as follows: Monday 10 November: Liphook northbound entry slip road, Downlands House and Hammer Lane northbound accesses Tuesday 11 November: Hazel Grove northbound exit and entry slip roads Friday 14 November: Send Services northbound slip roads, Send Interchange northbound slip roads and Potters Lane northbound slip roads Clearly signed diversions will be in place via the next available junction.

A3 Hindhead Tunnel, Surrey: Maintenance

Both bores will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 9am, on Saturday 15 November. A fully signed diversion route will be in place via the A31 and A325.

The northbound and southbound exit slip roads will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, on Friday 14 November. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the B2070.

A3 Chalton Horndean, Hampshire: High friction surfacing

The southbound exit slip road will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, on Wednesday 12 November. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A3(M) junction 1.

A303 Hampshire: Road marking renewals

The following slip roads will be closed overnight, between 10pm to 6am, with clearly signed diversions in place using the next suitable junction: Monday 10 November: Micheldever eastbound exit and entry slip roads Tuesday 11 November: A33 (Basingstoke) eastbound exit slip road and access to Popham Services (eastbound) Wednesday 12 November: A343 Salisbury Road (Andover) eastbound exit and entry slip roads Thursday 13 November: Longparish eastbound exit and entry slip roads and access to Longparish Services (eastbound) Friday 14 November: A33 (Basingstoke) westbound exit slip road and access to Popham Services (westbound)

A303 Bullington to Andover, Hampshire: Resurfacing work

The westbound carriageway will be closed between the A34 and the A3093 Picket Twenty junction overnight, between 10pm and 6am, on Monday 10 and Tuesday 11 November. A303 Longparish to Andover, Hampshire: safety barrier maintenance

Various lane closures in both directions will be in place overnight, between 10pm and 6am, for five weeks from Monday 10 November (Monday to Friday only).

A34 Hampshire, West Berkshire and Oxfordshire: Road marking renewals

Lane closures will be in place along various sections of the A34 north and southbound carriageways overnight, between 10pm and 6am until Wednesday 19 November.

A34 Bullington Cross (A303) to Winchester (M3 J9), Hampshire: High friction surfacing and road marking renewal

The southbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, on Friday 14 November. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A33 and A303.

A34 Whitchurch (River Test), Hampshire: Drainage repairs

There will be a lane closure in both directions overnight, between 10pm and 6am, for three nights from Tuesday 4 November.

A34 Abingdon to Hinksey Hill Oxford, Oxfordshire: Sign renewals

The Hinksey Hill northbound exit and entry slip roads will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, for two nights from Tuesday 11 November. A clearly signed diversion will be in place using the next suitable junction. There will also be a lane closure on the A34 northbound carriageway and northbound entry slip road at Abingdon.

A34 Botley (Oxford), Oxfordshire: Sign renewals

The southbound exit and entry slip roads will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, on Friday 14 November. A clearly signed diversion will be in place using the next suitable junction.

A34 Peartree Interchange (A44), Oxfordshire: Sign renewals

A lane closure will be in place on the A34 southbound carriageway and southbound exit slip road overnight, between 10pm and 6am, on Monday 10 November.

A34/M40 junction 9 Wendlebury, Oxfordshire: Junction improvement

Narrow lanes and a 40mph speed limit will be in place 24 hours a day, until December 2014. There are also overnight lane closures on the A34, A41 and on the roundabout. For further details of this scheme visit the road project web page
