Planned roadworks in Bristol, Gloucestershire, Somerset, BANES, Wiltshire, West Dorset and Devon: Weekly summary for Monday 15 December – Sunday 21 December 2014

The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of the above date but could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.

Bristol

M4 Junction 19 - 18 Eastbound: Resurfacing

Full carriageway closure will take place from 8pm Monday 15 December until 6am the following morning. Diversion will be clearly signposted.

M4 Junction 19 - 18 Eastbound: Resurfacing

Full carriageway closure will take place from 8pm Friday 19 December until 6am the following morning. Diversion will be clearly signposted.

M4/M5 Almondsbury Interchange: Communications

M5 southbound link with M4 eastbound link, M4 eastbound link with M5 northbound and M4 eastbound link with M5 southbound will be closed from 9pm Thursday 18 December until 6am the following morning. Diversion will be clearly signposted.

M5 Junction 17: Communications

The northbound carriageway will be closed between the exit and entry slip from 8pm Monday 15 December until 6am the following morning. Diversion will be off and back on the slips.

M5 Junction 17: Communications

Full southbound exit slip will take place from 9pm Tuesday 19 December until 6am the following morning. Diversion will be clearly signposted.

M48 Severn Bridge: Resurfacing

Full carriageway closure from Junction 2 exit to entry will be in place daily from 9.30am Tuesday 16 December until 5pm Thursday 18 December. Diversion is off and back on.

Gloucestershire

M5 Junction 11a – Junction 12: Bridge repairs

Narrow lanes with a width restriction of 5 metres, contraflows and speed restrictions will be in place during the day and occasional slip road and full carriageway closures will take place overnight. Work is expected to continue until mid December 2014

M5 Junction 11a – 12: Removal of Traffic Management

Full southbound carriageway closure will take place from 9pm Monday 15 December until 6am the following morning. Diversion will be clearly signposted.

M5 Junction 12 – 11: Removal of Traffic Management

Full northbound carriageway closure will take place from 9pm Tuesday 16 December until 6am the following morning. Diversion will be clearly signposted.

M5 Junction 11 – 10: Bridge repairs

Narrow lanes and 50 mph speed restrictions will be in place until May 2015.

M5 Junction 10: Bridge Repairs

Narrow lanes with 50mph speed restriction on the southbound carriageway will be in place until October 2015.

M5 Junction 10: Bridge Repairs

Full southbound exit slip closure will take place nightly from 9pm Thursday 18 December until Saturday 20 December. Diversion will be clearly signposted.

A40 Longford rbt: Improvements Pinch Point Scheme

Day time lanes closures and narrows lanes at night will take place from Monday 17 November until Mid December.

M5 Junction 14 – 15: Geotechnical works

Narrow lanes with 50mph speed restriction on the southbound carriageway will be in place until March 2015.

Wiltshire

A36 Upton Lovell: Improvements

24 hour temporary traffic signals will be in operation until the end of December 2014.

Full carriageway closure will take place nightly from 8pm Friday 112 December until 6am Tuesday 16 December. Diversion will be clearly signposted.

M4 Junction 18: Resurfacing

Eastbound exit slip will be closed from 8pm Wednesday 17 December until 6am the following morning. Diversion will be clearly signposted.

North Somerset

M5 between Junction 23 – 24: Structures

Phase 2 or works consist of narrow lanes with a width restriction of 4.8 metres on the southbound carriageway, contraflows and speed restrictions will be in place during the day. Work is expected to continue until mid January 2015 when phase 3 will be implemented.

A303 Eastbound Sparkford to Wincanton: Resurfacing

Full carriageway, will be in place nightly from 8pm until 6am, from Tuesday16 December until Saturday 20 December. The diversion route will be clearly signposted.

A303 Westbound Sparkford to Wincanton: Resurfacing

Full carriageway, will be in place nightly from 8pm until 6am, from Wednesday 17 December until 6am the following morning. The diversion route will be clearly signposted.

BANES

No planned works.

West Dorset

No planned works.

Devon (M5 only)

M5 between Junction 28 – 29: Barrier works

24/ 7 hardshoulder and lane 1 will be closed from 6am Monday 24 November until 5pm Friday 19 December.

M5 Junction 27 exit slip: Improvements – Pinch Point

24/7 hardshoulder and lane 1 closed on southbound exit slip until until end of March 2015.
