Planned roadworks in and around the M25: weekly summary for Monday 24 October to Sunday 30 October.

The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of 21 October 2016 but could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

M1 junction 6a (M25), Hertfordshire: resurfacing

Work to improve journeys by carrying out resurfacing will start this week. The dedicated link road from the M1 southbound to the M25 anti-clockwise will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, from Monday 24 October for 5 nights. Work on Friday will start at 11pm. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the M25 clockwise to junction 22 and return.

M3 junctions 1 (Sunbury) to 2 (M25), Surrey: bridge joint replacement / resurfacing

Work to improve journeys by carrying out bridge joint replacement and resurfacing on the structure that carries the M3 over the River Thames continues this week. The westbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, on Monday 24 October. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A308 and A30 to M25 junction 13.

The eastbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, from Tuesday 25 October for 4 nights and on Sunday 30 October. Work on Friday will start at 11pm. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the M25 junction 13, A30 and A308.

M3 junctions 2 (M25) to 4a Farnborough, Hampshire: Smart motorway improvement

Work to reduce congestion and improve journey times continues this week with narrow lanes a 50mph speed limit in place on both carriageways between junctions 2 and 4a, with a free recovery service operating 24 hours a day.

The southbound carriageway between junctions 2 and 3 will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 5.30am, from Monday 24 October for 5 nights and on Sunday 30 October. Work on Saturday morning will finish at 7am. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via M25 junction 13, A30 and the A322.

The northbound carriageway between junctions 3 and 2 will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 5.30am, from Monday 24 October for 7 consecutive nights. Work on Saturday and Sunday morning will finish at 7am. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A322 and A30 to M25 junction 13.

The southbound carriageway between junctions 2 and 4 will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 7am, on Saturday 29 October. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the M25 junction 13, A30 and the A331.

M11 junction 6 (M25), Essex: maintenance

Work to improve journeys by carrying out litter clearance, vegetation removal, resurfacing and electrical maintenance will start this week. The dedicated link roads from the M11 in both directions to the M25 anti-clockwise will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, on Wednesday 26 October. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the M11, A406 and A10.

M25 junction 7 (M23), Surrey: resurfacing

Work to improve journeys by carrying out resurfacing will start this week. The dedicated link road from the M25 clockwise to the M23 in both directions will be closed overnight, between 11pm and 5am, on Friday 28 October. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 8 and return.

M25 Cobham Services, Surrey: electrical repair

Work to maintain safety by carrying out electrical repairs will start this week. The anti-clockwise entry slip road will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, on Thursday 27 October. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 10 and return.

M25 junction 10 (A3), Surrey: electrical repair

Work to maintain safety by carrying out electrical repairs will start this week. The clockwise exit slip road will be closed overnight, between 11pm and 6am, on Friday 28 October. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 11 and return.

M25 junction 15 (M4), Greater London: bridge inspection

Work to maintain safety by carrying out a bridge inspection will start this week. The dedicated link road from the M25 anti-clockwise to the M4 westbound will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, on Saturday 29 October. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the M4 eastbound to junction 4 and return.

M25 junction 19 (A41), Hertfordshire: sign maintenance

Work to maintain safety by carrying out sign maintenance will start this week. The anti-clockwise entry slip road will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, on Thursday 27 October. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A41 to M25 junction 20.

M25 junction 20 Kings Langley, Hertfordshire: sign maintenance

Work to maintain safety by carrying out sign maintenance will start this week. The anti-clockwise exit slip road will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, on Wednesday 26 October. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 18 and return.

M25 junctions 23 South Mimms to 25 Enfield, Greater London: maintenance

Work to improve journeys by carrying out litter clearance, vegetation removal, resurfacing and electrical maintenance will start this week. The clockwise carriageway will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, on Monday 24 October. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A1, A406 and A10.

The anti-clockwise carriageway will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, on Thursday 27 October. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A10, A406 and A1.

M25 junctions 25 Enfield to 27 (M11), Essex: maintenance

Work to improve journeys by carrying out litter clearance, vegetation removal, resurfacing and electrical maintenance will start this week. The clockwise carriageway will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, on Tuesday 25 October. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A10, A406 and M11.

The anti-clockwise carriageway will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, on Wednesday 26 October. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the M11, A406 and A10.

M25 junctions 28 (A12) to 27 (M11), Essex: resurfacing

Work to improve journeys by carrying out resurfacing will continue this week. The anti-clockwise carriageway will be closed overnight between 11pm and 6am, on Friday 28 October. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A12, A406 and the M11.

M25 junctions 29 (A127) to 30 (A13), Essex: resurfacing

Work to improve journeys by carrying out resurfacing continues this week. The clockwise carriageway will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, on Monday 24 October and on Sunday 30 October. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A127, A128 and A13.

The anti-clockwise carriageway will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, from Wednesday 28 October for 2 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A13, A128 and A127.

M25 junction 30 (A13), Essex: major improvement

Work to reduce congestion and improve safety continues this week as part of a major scheme to widen the A13 and the M25 junction 30 roundabout and slip roads. The eastern half of the roundabout will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, on Monday 24 October. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A13 to A126 and return.

M25 junctions 30 (Thurrock) to 31 (Lakeside), Essex: major improvement

Work to reduce congestion and improve safety continues this week as part of a major scheme to widen the A13 and the M25 junction 30 roundabout and slip roads. On the A13, narrow lanes and a 40mph speed limit are in place and on the M25, narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit are in place. A free recovery service will operate 24 hours a day. There will be additional overnight lane and slip road closures as required. All closures will have a clearly signed diversion in place.

A temporary road layout is in use on the northbound link road between junctions 31 and 30. The layout will remain in place 24/7 to enable the construction of a retaining wall. Drivers are advised to plan their journeys and allow additional time.

The anti-clockwise carriageway between junctions 31 and 30 will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, from Monday 24 October for 2 nights and between 11pm and 6am on Friday 28 October. On Monday night, a clearly signed diversion will be in place via the dedicated link road between junctions 31 and 30. On Tuesday and Friday nights, a clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A1306 to Wennington Interchange and the A13 to M25 junction 30.

The clockwise carriageway between junctions 30 and 31 will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, from Tuesday 25 October for 2 nights and between 11pm and 6am on Friday 28 October. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the dedicated link road between junctions 30 and 31.

The anti-clockwise (northbound) link road between junctions 31 and 30 will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am on Tuesday 25 October and between 11pm and 6am on Friday 28 October. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A1306 to the Wennington Interchange and A13 eastbound to M25 junction 30. The clockwise (southbound) link road between junctions 30 and 31 will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, on Thursday 27 October. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A13 westbound to the Wennington Interchange and the A1306 to M25 junction 31.

A13/M25 junction 30 Thurrock, Essex: major improvement

Work to reduce congestion and improve safety continues this week as part of a major scheme to widen the A13 and the M25 junction 30 roundabout and slip roads. The westbound A13 between North Stifford (A1012) and the Wennington Interchange will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, from Tuesday 25 October for 4 nights. Work on Friday will start at 11pm. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A1012, A1306 and M25 junction 31 and A1306.

A282 (M25) Dartford – Thurrock Crossing: maintenance

Work to improve journeys at the Dartford Crossing continues this week. The following closures will be in place with a fully signed diversion for oversized vehicles for the northbound east tunnel closures.

  • Monday 24 October (8.30pm to 5.30am) northbound east tunnel
  • Tuesday 25 October (8.30pm to 5.30am) northbound east tunnel
  • Wednesday 26 October (8.30pm to 5.30am) northbound east tunnel
  • Thursday 27 October (8.30pm to 5.30am) northbound east tunnel
  • Friday 28 October (9pm to 5.30am) northbound west tunnel
  • Saturday 29 October (8.30pm to 6am) northbound west tunnel
  • Sunday 30 October (8.30pm to 5.30am) northbound east tunnel

A282 junction 1a Swanscombe, Kent: tunnel maintenance

Work to maintain safety by carrying out tunnel maintenance continues this week. The northbound entry slip road will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 5.30am, from Friday 28 October for 2 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A282 southbound to junction 1b and return.
