The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of 18 December 2015 but could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.

M3 junction 1 Sunbury, Surrey: barrier repair

Work to improve safety by carrying out repairs to the barrier will take place this week. The westbound entry slip road will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, on Monday 21 December. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A316 eastbound to Snakey Lane roundabout and return.

M25 junction 5 Sevenoaks, Kent: litter clearance

Work to improve journeys by clearing litter will take place this week. The anti-clockwise carriageway will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, on Monday 21 December. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the M26, A21 and A21.

M25 junction 14 Heathrow (T4, 5, Cargo), Middlesex: carriageway repair

Work to improve journeys by carrying out carriageway repairs will take place this week. The anti-clockwise entry slip road will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, on Tuesday 22 December. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A3113, A3044, A30 to M25 junction 13.

M25 junction 20 Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire: bridge joint replacement

Work to improve journeys by replacing the bridge expansion joints over the Grand Union Canal continues this week. The clockwise entry slip road will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, from Monday 21 December for 2 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 18 and return.

M25 junction 25 Enfield (A10), Hertfordshire: carriageway sweeping

Work to improve journeys by carrying out carriageway sweeping will take place this week. The anti-clockwise entry and exit slip roads will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, on Tuesday 22 December. A clearly signed diversion will be in place for the entry slip road via the M25 clockwise to junction 26 and return. A clearly signed diversion will be in place for the exit slip road via junction 24.

M25 junction 26 Waltham Abbey, Essex: carriageway sweeping

Work to improve journeys by carrying out carriageway sweeping will take place this week. The anti-clockwise exit and entry slip roads will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, on Monday 21 December. A clearly signed diversion for the entry slip road will be in place via the M25 clockwise to junction 28 and return. A clearly signed diversion for the exit slip road will be in place via junction 25.

A13/M25 junction 30 Thurrock, Essex: major improvement

On the A13, narrow lanes and a 40mph speed limit and on the M25, narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit will remain in place over the festive period for the safety of drivers and their passengers.

A282 (M25) Dartford – Thurrock Crossing: maintenance work

Work to improve journeys at the Dartford Crossing will continue this week. The following closures will be in place with a fully signed diversion for oversized vehicles for the northbound east tunnel closures.

  • Monday 21 December (8.30pm to 5.30am): northbound east tunnel
  • Tuesday 22 December (8.30pm to 5.30am): northbound east tunnel
