Planned road works in West Midlands: Weekly summary for Monday 3 November to 9 November 2014

The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of 30 October 2014 but could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.

M5 junction 9 Tewkesbury to junction 8 (M50): Resurfacing works

The northbound carriageway will be closed from 27 October to 22 November between 10pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

M6 junction 1 Rugby to junction 2 Ansty, Warwickshire: Bridge repairs

The carriageway will be closed northbound from 6 to 15 November between 10pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

M6 junction 6 Gravelly Hill, Birmingham: Barrier repairs:

The exit slip roads will be closed in both directions from 3 November to 7 November between 8pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

M6 junction 10a to junction 11 Cannock, Staffordshire: Carriageway works

The carriageway will be closed northbound from 5 November to 7 November between 9:30 pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

M6 junction 11 Cannock, Staffordshire: Carriageway works

The entry slip road will be closed northbound from 5 November to 7 November between 9:30 pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

M6 junction 12 Gailey, Staffordshire: Carriageway works

The entry slip road will be closed northbound from 9.30pm on 8 November to 6am on 9 November. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

M6 junction 13 Stafford to 12 Gailey, Staffordshire: Carriageway works

The carriageway will be closed southbound from 3 November to 8 November between 9:30 pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

The link to the M5 northbound from the M42 southbound will be closed from 3 November to 8 November. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

M50 junction 2 Bromsberrow to A49 Wilton island, Gloucestershire: Carriageway works

The carriageway will be closed in both directions from 3 November to 7 November between 8pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

M50 junction 2 Bromsberrow to junction 4 Travellers Rest, Ross on Wye, Worcestershire: Carriageway works

The westbound carriageway will be closed from 3 November to 7 November between 8pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

A5/A483 Mile End island, Oswestry, Shropshire: Carriageway works

Various full overnight closures on approaches to Mile End (A5/A483) from 29 September to 24 December 2014 between 7pm and 6am. A diversion routes will be clearly signposted.

A5 Emstrey to Preston Boats Island, Shropshire: Carriageway works

The eastbound carriageway will be closed from 24 October to 20 November between 7.30pm and 7am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

A5 Preston Boats to Emstrey Island, Shropshire: Carriageway works

The westbound carriageway will be closed from 24 October to 20 November between 7.30pm and 7am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

A5 Churchbridge Island, Cannock, Staffordshire: Carriageway works

The carriageway may be closed in both directions from 28 October to 8 February 2015 between 8pm and 5:30am. The closure will be removed at weekends. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

A5 Mile Oak, Tamworth, Staffordshire: Carriageway works

The eastbound entry and exit slip roads will be closed from 6 November to 7 November between 8.30pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

A45 Oxford Road to M45, Warwickshire: Carriageway works

The carriageway will be closed in both directions (approx one-mile sections) from 1 November to 26 February 2015 between 8pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

A45/A46 Tollbar End major project, Coventry

Generally, over the period of the scheme, temporary speed limits will be in place monitored by average-speed cameras. There is now a 40mph limit on the A45 Stonebridge Highway, A46 Coventry Eastern Bypass, A45 London Road and Tollbar Roundabout. Drivers are advised to follow any diversions and not to use their Satellite Navigation Systems.

Planned traffic management for the week from Saturday 18 October (All lane and road closures during off-peak hours, 9:30am to 3.30pm and 8pm to 6am).

  • Monday 3 November - Lane 1 closure on the A45 Stonebridge Highway, east bound and west bound; lane 1 closure on the A46 Coventry Eastern Bypass, south bound; lane 1 closure on the A45 Stonebridge Highway, west bound.

  • Tuesday 4 November - Lane 1 closure on the A45 Stonebridge Highway, east bound and west bound; lane 1 closure on the A46 Coventry Eastern Bypass, south bound; lane 1 closure A45 Stonebridge highway westbound.

  • Wednesday 5 November - Lane 1 closure on the A45 Stonebridge Highway, east bound and west bound; lane 1 closure on the A46 Coventry Eastern Bypass, south bound; lane 1 closure A45 Stonebridge highway westbound.

  • Thursday 6 November - Lane 1 closure on the A45 Stonebridge Highway, east bound and west bound; lane 1 closure on the A46 Coventry Eastern Bypass, south bound; lane 1 closure on the A45 Stonebridge highway westbound

  • Friday 7 November - Lane 1 closure on the A45 Stonebridge Highway, east bound and west bound; lane 1 closure on the A46 Coventry Eastern Bypass, south bound; lane 1 closure A45 Stonebridge highway westbound.

Until December 2014, the following 24 hour traffic management will be in place:

  • Narrow lanes will be in place on A45 Stonebridge Highway, westbound (Tollbar to Stivichall).

  • Traffic management will be in place on Tollbar roundabout.

  • Stonehouse Lane access to A45 Stonebridge Highway will be closed

  • Lane 3 closure will be in place on A45 London Road, westbound.

  • Narrow lanes will be in place on A46 Coventry eastern bypass, northbound.

  • Various lane closures around Tollbar End roundabout.

  • Rowley Road will have various lane closures.

  • Siskin Drive will have various lane closures.

  • London Road B4110 will have various lane closures.

A49 Bromfield to Onibury, Shropshire: Carriageway works

The carriageway will be closed in both directions from 21 October to 11 November and from 22 November to 20 December 2014, between 7.30pm and 7am (No full closure on Sunday nights). A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

A49 Leominster Bypass, Herefordshire: Carriageway works

The carriageway will be closed in both directions from 21 October to 20 December between 7.30pm and 7am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

A50 Meir, Stoke, Staffordshire: Carriageway works

The eastbound exit slip will be closed from 8.30pm on 5 November to 6am on 6 November. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

A4123/M5 junction 2 Oldbury, West Midlands: Carriageway works

The links from Birchley Island to junction 2 island will be closed one link at a time for resurfacing from 7 November from 15 November, between 9.30pm and 5.30am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

A500 Talke, Stoke, Staffordshire: Carriageway works

The southbound entry slip road will be closed from 3 to 8 November between 8pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
