Planned road works in West Midlands: Weekly summary for Monday 27 October to 2 November 2014
The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of 23 October 2014 but could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.
M5 junction 5 Droitwich: Carriageway works
The southbound exit slip will be closed from 10pm on 28 October to 6am on 29 October between. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M5 junction 9 Tewkesbury to junction 8 M50, Gloucestershire: Resurfacing works
The northbound carriageway will be closed from 27 October to 22 November between 10pm and 6am. A diversion route from junction 11 will be clearly signposted.
M6 junction 6 Gravelly Hill, Birmingham: Barrier repairs:
The exit slip roads will be closed in both directions from 8pm on 26 October to 6am on 27 October. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M6 junction 11 Cannock, Staffordshire: Carriageway works
The exit slip road will be closed northbound from 29 October to 31 October between 9:30 pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M6 junction 11 Cannock, Staffordshire: Carriageway works
The northbound entry slip road will be closed from 9.30pm on 30 October to 6am on 31 October. The southbound entry slip will be closed from 9.30pm on 28 October to 6am on 29 October. The southbound exit slip will be closed from 27 October to 29 October between 9:30 pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M6 junction 12 Gailey, Staffordshire: Technology works
The entry slip roads will be closed in both directions from 9.30pm on 1 November to 10am on 2 November. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M42 junction 5 Solihull, West Midlands: Carriageway works
The northbound slip roads will be closed to junction 5 from 27 October to 30 October & the southbound slip roads will be closed from 29 October to 31 October, between 8pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A5/A483 Mile End island, Oswestry, Shropshire: Carriageway works
There will be various full carriageway closures on the approaches to Mile End (A5/ A483) from 27 October to 24 December 2014 between 7pm and 6am. A diversion routes will be clearly signposted.
A5 Emstrey to Preston Boats Island, Shropshire: Carriageway works
The carriageway will be closed in both directions from 27 October to 20 November between 7.30pm and 7am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A5 Churchbridge Island, Cannock, Staffordshire: Carriageway works
The carriageway will be closed in both directions from 8pm on 26 October to 5.30am on 27 October. The closure will be removed at weekends. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A45 Oxford Road to M45, Warwickshire: Carriageway works
The carriageway will be closed in both directions (approx one-mile sections) from 1 November to 26 February 2015 between 8pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A45/A46 Tollbar End major project, Coventry
Generally, over the period of the scheme, temporary speed limits will be in place monitored by average-speed cameras. There is now a 40mph limit on the A45 Stonebridge Highway, A46 Coventry Eastern Bypass, A45 London Road and Tollbar Roundabout. Drivers are advised to follow any diversions and not to use their Satellite Navigation Systems.
Planned traffic management for the week from Saturday 18 October (All lane and road closures during off-peak hours, 9:30am to 3.30pm and 8pm to 6am).
- Monday 27 October - Lane closure on the A45 Stonebridge Highway, eastbound and westbound; lane closure on the A45 London Road westbound; lane closure on the A46 Coventry Eastern Bypass, southbound and northbound.
- Tuesday 28 October - Lane closure on the A45 Stonebridge Highway, eastbound and westbound; lane closure on the A45 London Road westbound; lane closure on the A46 Coventry Eastern Bypass, southbound and northbound; lane closure A45 Stonebridge highway eastbound; lane Closure Tollbar End roundabout.
- Wednesday 29 October - Lane closure on the A45 Stonebridge Highway, eastbound and westbound; lane closure on the A45 London Road westbound; lane closure on the A46 Coventry Eastern Bypass, southbound and northbound; lane closure A45 Stonebridge highway eastbound; lane closure A45 Stonebridge highway westbound.
- Thursday 30 October - Lane closure on the A45 Stonebridge Highway, eastbound and westbound; lane closure on the A45 London Road westbound; lane closure on the A46 Coventry Eastern Bypass, southbound and northbound.
- Friday 31 October - Lane closure on the A45 Stonebridge Highway, eastbound and westbound; lane closure on the A45 London Road westbound; lane closure on the A46 Coventry Eastern Bypass, northbound.
Until December 2014, the following 24 hour traffic management will be in place:
- Narrow lanes will be in place on A45 Stonebridge Highway, westbound (Tollbar to Stivichall).
- Traffic management will be in place on Tollbar roundabout.
- Stonehouse Lane access to A45 Stonebridge Highway will be closed
- Lane 3 closure will be in place on A45 London Road, westbound.
- Narrow lanes will be in place on A46 Coventry eastern bypass, northbound.
- Various lane closures around Tollbar End roundabout.
- Rowley Road will have various lane closures.
- Siskin Drive will have various lane closures.
- London Road B4110 will have various lane closures.
A49 Bromfield to Onibury, Shropshire: Carriageway works
The carriageway will be closed in both directions from 21 October to 20 December 2014 between 7.30pm and 7am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A50 Meir, Stoke, Staffordshire: Carriageway works
The eastbound exit & westbound entry slip roads will be closed from 27 October to 8 November between 8pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A500 Etruria, Stoke, Staffordshire: Carriageway works
The southbound entry slip road will be closed from 27 October to 30 October between 8pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
