Planned road works in West Midlands: Weekly summary for Monday 20 to Sunday 26 October 2014
The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of 17 October 2014 but could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.
M5 junction 8 to M50 junction 2 Ledbury, Worcestershire: Structural repairs
The westbound carriageway will be closed from 8pm on 24 October to 6am on 25 October. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M5 junction 9 Tewkesbury to junction 8 Strensham, Worcestershire
The northbound carriageway will be closed overnight from 23 October to 19 November between 10pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M6 junction 6 Gravelly Hill interchange: Parapet Wall repairs and resurfacing
The carriageway will be closed both directions from 20 to 28 October between 8pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M6 junction 6 Gravelly Hill Interchange: Safety Fence Repairs
The northbound carriageway from Park Circus, out of city, will be closed from 9pm on 19 October to 6am on 20 October. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M6 junction 10A Walsall to junction 11 Cheslyn Hay, Carriageway works
The northbound carriageway will be closed from 22 to 24 October between 9:30pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M6 junction 12 Cannock, Carriageway works
The southbound exit slip road will be closed from 17 to 20 October between 10pm and 6am, and the northbound entry slip road will be closed from 9.30pm on 24 October to 6am on 25 October. Diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M42 junction 1 Bromsgrove to M5 junction 4 Lydiate Ash, Worcestershire. Carriageway works
The northbound carriageway will be closed overnight from 20 to 24 October between 9pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M50 junction 2 Ledbury to Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire: Resurfacing works
The westbound carriageway will be closed from 20 October to 23 October between 8pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M50 junction 2 Ledbury to junction 1 Tewkesbury Herefordshire: Structural Repairs
The eastbound carriageway will be closed from 8pm on 23 October to 6am on 24 October. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M54 junction 2 Wolverhampton to junction 3 Shifnal: Carriageway Works
The westbound carriageway will be closed from 8pm on 23 October to 6am on 24 October. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A5 Churchbridge, Cannock, Staffordshire: Carriageway works
The carriageway will be closed in both directions between M6 Toll and Lodge Lane roundabout will be closed from 21 to 24 October between 8pm and 6am. A local diversion will be in place via the A460 Eastern Way.
A5 Preston Boats, Shropshire: Carriageway works.
The westbound carriageway will be closed from 20 to 25 October between 8pm and 6:15am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A5 Emstry island, Shropshire: Carriageway works.
The eastbound carriageway will be closed from 20 October to 30 November between 8pm and 6:15am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A5/ A483 Mile End, Oswestry. Carriageway works.
The carriageway will be closed in both directions from 20 October to 24 December 2014 between 7pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A45/A46 Tollbar End major project, Coventry
Generally, over the period of the scheme, temporary speed limits will be in place monitored by average-speed cameras. There is now a 40mph limit on the A45 Stonebridge Highway, A46 Coventry Eastern Bypass, A45 London Road and Tollbar Roundabout. Drivers are advised to follow any diversions and not to use their Satellite Navigation Systems.
Planned traffic management for the week from Saturday 18 October (All lane and road closures during off-peak hours, 9:30am to 3.30pm and 8pm to 6am).
- Saturday 18 October - Total Closure of A45 Stonebridge Highway westbound carriageway. Diversion in place via B4110.
- Monday 20 October - Lane 1 closure on the A45 Stonebridge Highway, eastbound and west bound; lane 1 closure on the A45 London Road westbound; lane 2 closure on the A46 Coventry Eastern Bypass, southbound and northbound.
- Tuesday 21 October - Lane 1 closure on the A45 Stonebridge Highway, eastbound and westbound; lane 1 closure on the A45 London Road westbound; lane 2 closure on the A46 Coventry Eastern Bypass, southbound and northbound.
- Wednesday 22 October - lane 1 closure on the A45 Stonebridge Highway, eastbound and westbound; lane 1 closure on the A45 London Road westbound; lane 2 closure on the A46 Coventry Eastern Bypass, southbound and northbound.
- Thursday 23 October - lane 1 closure on the A45 Stonebridge Highway, eastbound and westbound; lane 1 closure on the A45 London Road westbound; lane 2 closure on the A46 Coventry Eastern Bypass, southbound and northbound.
- Friday 24 October - lane 1 closure on the A45 Stonebridge Highway, east bound and west bound; lane 1 closure on the A45 London Road west bound; lane 2 closure on the A46 Coventry Eastern Bypass, northbound.
Until December 2014, the following 24 hour traffic management will be in place:
- Narrow lanes will be in place on A45 Stonebridge Highway, westbound (Tollbar to Stivichall).
- Traffic management will be in place on Tollbar roundabout.
- Stonehouse Lane access to A45 Stonebridge Highway will be closed.
- Lane 3 closure will be in place on A45 London Road, westbound.
- Narrow lanes will be in place on A46 Coventry eastern bypass, northbound.
- Various lane closures around Tollbar End roundabout.
- Rowley Road will have various lane closures.
- Siskin Drive will have various lane closures.
- London Road B4110 will have various lane closures.
A49 Bromfield to Onibury, Shropshire. Carriageway works
The carriageway will be closed in both directions from 20 October to 20 December between 8pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A500 Etruria/M6 junction 16 roundabout, Stoke-on-Trent: Carriageway works
The southbound carriageway, including the entry slip road, will be closed from 20 to 30 October between 9pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
