Planned road works in West Midlands: Weekly summary for Monday 12 January to Sunday 18 January 2015

The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of 9 January 2015 but could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.

M5 junction 4, Worcestershire: Carriageway repairs

The carriageway between the northbound and southbound slip roads will be closed from 12 to 20 January between 9pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

M5 junction 8 to 7, Worcestershire: Carriageway works

The northbound carriageway will be closed from 12 to 25 January between 10pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

The northbound carriageway will be closed from 12 to 31 January between 9pm and 5.30am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

M6 junction 2 Ansty to junction 3 Bedworth: Carriageway works

The northbound carriageway will be closed 12 to 16 January between 8pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

M6 junction 6 Gravelly Hill: Carriageway works

The eastbound carriageway link roads will be closed from 12 January to 30 May. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

M6 junction 6 Gravelly Hill to junction 7 Great Barr, including exit slip road: Carriageway works

The northbound carriageway will be closed on from 8pm on 12 January to 6am on 13 January. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

M6 junction 9, Wednesbury: Carriageway works

The southbound entry slip road will be closed from 12 January to 30 July between 9pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

M6 junction 10 to 8, Walsall: Carriageway works

The southbound carriageway including on and off slip roads will be closed from 12 to 19 January. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

M6 junction 12 Gailey entry and exit slip roads: Carriageway works

The southbound entry slip road will be closed on from 9.30pm on 12 January to 6am on 13 January. A diversion route will be clearly signposted

The northbound link will be closed from 1 January until 31 January between 10pm and 5.30am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

M42 junction 6, Birmingham Airport/NEC: Carriageway works

The northbound exit slip road, freeflow lane to A45 westbound will be closed on from 10pm on 12 January to 5am on 13 January. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

M50 junction 1 entry slip road, Herefordshire: Carriageway works

The westbound entry slip road will be closed southbound from 16 January to 22 March. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

M50 junction 2 to 4, Herefordshire: carriageway works

The eastbound and westbound carriageway will be closed from 12 to 31 January between 10pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

M54 junction 5 Telford to 3 Cosford: Carriageway works

The eastbound and westbound carriageways will be closed from 12 January to 13 May between 9pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

A5 Churchbridge Roundabout: Carriageway works

The roundabout, eastbound will be closed until 8 February between 8pm and 5.30am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

The roundabout, westbound will be closed from 12t January to 8 February 2015 between 8pm and 5.30am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

A5 Preston Boats Island, Shropshire: Carriageway works

The westbound carriageway will be closed from 12 January to 31 January 2015 between 8pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

A5 Emstrey Island, Shropshire: Carriageway works

The eastbound and westbound carriageways will be closed from 12th January to 31st January 2015 between 7.30pm and 7am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

A5 Preston Boats: Carriageway works

The eastbound carriageway will be closed from the 12 January to 31 January 2015 between 7.30pm and 7am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

A5 Montford Lane to Wolfshead Roundabout: Carriageway works

The eastbound and westbound carriageway will be closed southbound from 12 January to 15 February between 8pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

A45 A423 Oxford Road to M45 Junction 1: Carriageway works

The eastbound and westbound carriageway will be closed from 12 January to 28 February between 10pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

A45/A46 Tollbar End major project, Coventry

Generally, over the period of the scheme, temporary speed limits will be in place monitored by average-speed cameras. There is now a 40mph limit on the A45 Stonebridge Highway, A46 Coventry Eastern Bypass, A45 London Road and Tollbar Roundabout. Drivers are advised to follow any diversions and not to use their Satellite Navigation Systems.

Planned traffic management for the week from Saturday 10 January (All lane and road closures during off-peak hours, 9:30am to 3.30pm and 8pm to 6am).

  • Saturday 10 January - A45 (Stonebridge) Westbound lane 2 closure; A45 off-slip Eastbound lane gain maybe required
  • Sunday 11 January – No additional requirements
  • Monday 12 January - A46 on-slip southbound lane 2 closure; A45 (Stonebridge) Eastbound lane 1 closure; Tollbar island roundabout lane 1 closure; A45 (London Road) Eastbound lane 2 A45 east closure
  • Tuesday 13 January - A46 on-slip southbound lane 2 closure; A45 (Stonebridge) Eastbound lane 1 closure; A45 (Stonebridge) Westbound lane 2 closure

June 2014 to December 2015

  • lane 4 closure on the A45 westbound
  • narrow lanes will be in place on A45 Stonebridge Highway, westbound (Tollbar to Stivichall)
  • traffic management will be in place on Tollbar roundabout
  • Stonehouse Lane access to A45 Stonebridge Highway will be closed
  • lane 1 closure will be in place on A45 London Road, eastbound
  • narrow lanes will be in place on A46 Coventry eastern bypass, northbound
  • various lane closures around Tollbar End roundabout

September 2014 to December 2015

  • Rowley Road will have various lane closures
  • Siskin Drive will have various lane closures
  • London Road B4110 will have various lane closures

A49 Bromfield to north of Onibury: Carriageway works

The northbound carriageway will be closed from 12 January to 30 January between 8pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
