Press release

Overnight traffic signals on A458 in Shropshire

Temporary traffic signals will be in place while improvement work is carried out on the footpath near Wattlesborough on the A458 in Shropshire.

The improvements include footpath reconstruction, vegetation clearance and replacement of damaged kerbs, and will be carried out from 10 October, lasting until 31 October, between Wattlesborough and Halfway House.

Work will be carried out overnight, between 8pm and 6am, when there will be two-way traffic signals on a section of around ¼ mile.

Highways Agency project manager Purnima Kaul said:

This work is needed to give a better surface for pedestrians.

Due to the nature of the work there may be some minor disruption to road users but the scheme will give rise to a better walking surface for the general public.
