Press release

Overnight resurfacing on A49 near Ludlow, Shropshire

The southbound carriageway of the A49 between the B4361 and Sheet Roundabout near Ludlow, Shropshire, will be closed for three nights from Monday 19 May.

The Highways Agency will be resurfacing a 200-metre section of the carriageway as well as replacing road markings, high friction surfacing and traffic detection loops.

The work takes place from 8pm to 6am each night with traffic diverted via the A4117 and A456 to rejoin the A49 at Woofferton. Highways Agency Project Manager Richard Gulliver said:

The work will lead to an improved road surface. We will minimise disruption by carrying out the work at night and advise road users to allow extra time for their journeys.
