Press release

Overnight lane closures for M180 carriageway work

Drivers are advised that carriageway reconstruction work will take place over six nights on M180 between M18 junction 5 (Ings) and M180 junction 3 (Midmoor), in order complete the work which began last week.

There will be overnight lane closures on the eastbound carriageway between M18 junction 5 and M180 junction 3, from Saturday 16 August to Thursday 21 August, between 8pm and 6am. This work will be complete prior to the August bank holiday weekend.

Highways Agency project manager Steven Wright said:

This work is necessary to complete the essential carriageway reconstruction work which we began last week. We are confident this work will not cause any of the difficulties experienced last week as we are carrying out all of the work overnight and lanes will remain open on the main carriageway during the day.

M180 junction 2 eastbound exit and entry slip road will also be closed overnight on Monday 18 August and Tuesday 19 August for concrete repairs and carriageway resurfacing, with a clearly signed diversion in place for local traffic.

The remaining work on the M180 is still being re programmed and work is ongoing to further consult with the local authorities and Humberside Police. Future work on this scheme will be carried out at night time under lane or carriageway closures. Details of this work will be made available once the dates have been confirmed.
