Reshuffle

The Prime Minister’s Official Spokesman (PMOS) confirmed further appointments to the government.

Cabinet Meeting/Reshuffle

The PMOS gave a brief on the Cabinet meeting which had taken place earlier in the afternoon. He said that much of the discussion was about economic growth. There were also brief updates on education reforms, the elections of police and crime commissioners, as well as foreign policy issues.

Asked about attendance at the Cabinet Meeting, the PMOS confirmed that the Secretary of State for Defence was the only Cabinet Minister who was unable to attend.

Asked about reports of certain reactions from Ministers who were leaving the government, the PMOS said that he would not be able to disclose the contents of private conversations.

Sir Howard Davies

Asked about reports that Sir Howard Davies would chair a commission on airport expansion, the PMOS said he would not comment on speculation, and people would have to await an official announcement.
