As part of the UK’s Newton Fund, the call for proposals on glacier retreat is now open. The aim of the call is to increase knowledge on glacier retreat in Peru and the impact this has on water supply in the region, as well as contribute to the understanding of increasing natural hazards – caused by glacier retreat.

All submitted applications must respond to at least one of the issues, agreed by CONCYTEC and NERC, on the matter.

These collaborative research projects must be developed between Peruvian and British entities through a joint proposal and should have a maximum duration of 34 months.

British entities can find more information on the call in NERC’s website. Peruvian entities can do so through Cienciactiva portal from CONCYTEC.

The closing date for this call is August 9 2018.
