Customers will be able to make appointments at the new VAC from today. The new visa application centre, run by our commercial partners VFS, will make it quicker and easier for customers in Burma to apply for their UK visas.

Benefits include more appointment slots through longer opening hours and a Monday to Friday service and faster turnaround times due to a new commercial courier service. Customers will also be able to benefit from the SMS service which keeps customers informed on the status of their visa application via text message.

The new visa application centre is located at:

305, Prime Hill Business Square, No. 60, Shwe Dagon Pagoda Road, Dagon Township, Yangon, Myanmar

Other benefits of the new VAC will be the SMS service which keeps applicants informed on the status of their visa application via text message during the application process. This new VAC will allow UK Visas and Immigration to offer customers in Burma more premium services and facilities in the future.

The visa process will not be altered as a result of this new service and applicants will continue to apply for their visa and book their visa appointment via the visa4uk. However there will be an extra charge to use this user-pay VAC which is $92 on top of the cost of the visa. This charge and the visa fee, will need to be paid for in US Dollars when the application is submitted. Local currency will not be accepted.

For further information on the service go to the VFS website. Customers requiring advice on their application should contact the International Enquiry Service.
