Overnight resurfacing on the M42 northbound between junction 9 and junction 10 at Tamworth will now start on Wednesday 4 June.
The work was postponed from Wednesday 28 May following a bridge strike on the M6 Toll and is now due to end on Thursday 26 June.
The work requires a full closure of the northbound carriageway, the northbound entry slip road at junction 9 and the northbound exit slip road at junction 10 from 9pm to 6am.
Traffic will be diverted off the M42 at junction 9 and along the A446, A38 and A5 to rejoin the M42 at junction 10.
Road users are advised to allow extra time for their journeys.
