New appointment at GAD

The Government Actuary’s Department (GAD) announces the appointment of Steve Humphrey to its Management Board as Head of Specialist Actuarial.
In this executive role, Steve will oversee the advice that GAD provides to UK and overseas pension and social security policy leads, funded pension schemes and supporting staff transfer exercises. Steve joined GAD in 1994 from a private sector consulting firm. His main responsibilities at GAD have centred around policy advice to HM Treasury on public service pension schemes.
Commenting on the appointment Martin Clarke, Government Actuary, said “GAD has a highly capable group of talented actuaries who are dedicated to public service. I am delighted that following open competition involving a number of private sector applicants Steve has been appointed and look forward to him taking a greater role in improving the department’s capability and value for money”.
