Now the largest event of its kind in Europe, the aim of the day, at EventCity, Manchester, on November 6, is to provide greater visibility of contracting opportunities across the NDA’s 19 UK sites, through informal networking and access to senior figures from the decommissioning sector.

Based on a theme of Connect and Collaborate, the event will feature 260 business stands plus more than 1,000 delegates, as well as a range of presentations by representatives from the UK Government, NDA and the site licence companies (SLCs).

Entry is free of charge. Anyone interested in the remaining exhibition space, or attending as a delegate, should register via the event website.

Ron Gorham, the NDA’s Head of Supply Chain Optimisation and SME Champion, said:

The feedback from the last event was extremely positive and we have taken account of the comments received.

The day is tailored to meet the aspirations of businesses at all levels of the supply chain, and encourage new suppliers to get involved.

We are very conscious that the supply chain is vital to our mission, and we wish to ensure it remains healthy and dynamic.

Launched four years ago, the annual event is organised jointly by the NDA and its SLCs specifically for businesses, especially small and medium enterprises seeking to work in the UK’s decommissioning market.

As part of the Connect and Collaborate theme, a series of speakers will use the afternoon to discuss areas where partnership working has proved essential, including the use of IT tools, technical innovation and procurement, as well as issues that hinder collaboration.

Baroness Verma, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for the Department of Energy & Climate Change, returns as the keynote speaker.

This year’s event also features:

  • Rear Admiral Mike Wareham, MOD Defence Equipment and Support, Director of Submarines, as one of the guest speakers.
  • The Government Department UK Trade and Investment (UKTI), which promotes UK businesses to overseas markets, who will have an exhibition stand.
  • An innovation zone with a focus on research initiatives and emerging technologies.
  • A series of presentations focused on collaboration.
  • Selected SLCs will give presentations on their sites and programmes

Another highlight of the day will be the presentation ceremony for the winners of the prestigious 2014 NDA Estate Supply Chain Awards. Entry for the awards is now closed.
