International Development Secretary Andrew Mitchell has joined the Prime Minister David Cameron in backing the Sun and Terry Venables’ World Cup charity single, If I Can Dream, which will raise money for the charity Malaria No More UK.

Andrew Mitchell said:

It’s great that the proceeds from this single are going to such good causes. Malaria is a preventable disease - yet it kills nearly a million people every year. Tackling this disease is one of my key priorities.

David Cameron last night said:

This is a brilliant initiative. I’m sure the single will sell extremely well. It has my full support.

Sarah Kline, Executive Director for Malaria No More UK said:

We are thrilled to have the backing of the PM and the SoS for International Development for the charity single. Their commitment to tackling malaria is vital if we are to help meet the international malaria goals and end the death and suffering caused by malaria. We hope as many people as possible will enjoy the song and buy or download a copy to support our work and that of Help for Heroes.

The single is available now from iTunes, Amazon and in HMV stores.
