British Ambassador to Romania Martin Harris blogs about key points from Prime Minister David Cameron's speech on migration.

In his latest blog posting, British Ambassador Martin Harris discusses some of the key points David Cameron’s speech on migration which the Prime Minister delivered on 25 March 2013.

Martin stresses that transitional controls on Romanian and Bulgarian workers will be lifted in 2014, and reiterates the Prime Minister’s view that those Romanians and Bulgarians already working in the UK “generally work hard, pay their taxes and are valued by their employers”. Martin also underlines the significant benefits that immigration brings to the UK economy and confirms the UK’s continued committed to the Single Market and the principle of free movement.
