Luanda Defence and Security Mission

The mission, running from 24 to 25 November, will be the first ever visit made by the UK for this sector.

Mr. David Heath MP, the Trade Envoy for the Prime Minister, will participate in this visit. He has previously visited Angola and is returning to reiterate the importance of Angola to the UK and strengthen partnerships.

Angola’s determined policy of economic diversification creates major opportunities for UK and Angolan companies to work together.

The UK companies participating in this mission intend to meet local companies in the same sector. Their aim is to further strengthen ties between the two countries, and to develop and strengthen Angolan capacities, with specific focus on maritime security.

Mr. David Heath MP, will focus on areas such as education, health, energy and water, agriculture and industry. He will meet a range of government ministers and senior officials.
