Lionesses set to roar in Queensland
England Women's National Football team arrive in Queensland today (July 7), ahead of their World Cup game against Haiti at Suncorp Stadium on July 22.
Over 12,000 tickets have been purchased for England’s World Cup in games by travelling supporters from the UK, with England’s travelling support anticipated to be one of the strongest across the tournament.
The Lionesses will host a free open training session at Sunshine Coast stadium on July 9 (1pm to 2:30pm), with any interested fans invited to come and see the reigning European champions be put through their paces by coach Sarina Weigman.
UK High Commissioner to Australia Vicki Treadell, and British Consul-General to Queensland, Richard Cowin will be among those watching the training session with keen interest:

The Lionesses are ranked fourth in the women’s FIFA world rankings. Following their opening World Cup match, England will head to Terrigal, an hour north of Sydney, and set up camp for the rest of the tournament.
