Lieutenant Governor of the Isle of Man
The Ministry of Justice marks the swearing in of the new Lieutenant Governor of the Isle of Man, Sir Richard Gozney KCMG, CVO.
Sir Richard Gozney KCMG, CVO, has been sworn into office as the Isle of Man’s Lieutenant Governor on 27 May 2016. As such he will be Her Majesty’s personal representative on the island and a key part of the constitutional relationship between the Crown, the United Kingdom and the island.
Lord Faulks, as the minister responsible for the conduct of islands’ business within Whitehall and for facilitating communication between the Crown Dependencies and the UK government, said:
The office of Lieutenant Governor is an important Crown appointment. The swearing in of any new Lieutenant Governor is a momentous and memorable occasion for all concerned, re-enforcing the island’s valuable, historic - and special - relationship with the Crown and, through that, the UK.
I am delighted to offer my congratulations to Sir Richard on his appointment and to wish the Isle of Man all the best on this special occasion.
