With sadness the Ministry of Justice marks the death of His Excellency, Air Marshal Peter Walker CB CBE.
The Ministry of Justice (MOJ) marks the death of His Excellency, Air Marshal Peter Walker CB CBE with sadness and passes on its sympathy to his family, friends and colleagues.
His Excellency, who died in the early hours of Sunday 6 September 2015, served the Bailiwick of Guernsey as Lieutenant Governor since 2011, with great distinction. Ministers and officials in MOJ relied on his advice and his understanding of the workings of government to maintain and develop the constitutional relationship between the Bailiwick and the UK. Air Marshal Walker was a much respected adviser and interlocutor.
Justice Minister Lord Faulks said:
I’m deeply saddened to hear of the sudden death of His Excellency, Air Marshal Peter Walker.
We have lost a talented individual who dedicated his working life to public service and my thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.
The Lieutenant Governor is Her Majesty’s personal representative in the Bailiwick of Guernsey. The MOJ has responsibility for the UK government’s constitutional relationship with the Crown Dependencies.
