Lecture “Globalisation. The role of Russia in the global economy” at Plekhanov Russian University of Economics
The Economic Counsellor at the British Embassy in Moscow, Ian Proud, delivered a lecture “Globalisation. The role of Russia in the global economy” for staff and students at Plekhanov Russian University of Economics.
The lecture, organized by the Department of Public Administration of Plekhanov University, was part of a long standing programme of cooperation between the University and the Economic Section at the British Embassy. Mr. Proud made a speech on models for economic development in Russia within the global economy and in the context of lower commodity prices. The participants shared their views with Mr. Proud and asked for his opinions on current economic and political developments, including in the EU-Russia relationship.
The University also organized a tour of the University campus including the recently renovated church. Plekhanov University has the only single site campus in Moscow with many historic buildings and, at 110 years of age, it is the oldest Economic University in Russia. Mr Proud invited staff and students to visit the Residence of the British Ambassador in Moscow, a similarly historic building, during the summer.
