Know before you go: the risk you take smuggling drugs
In 2010 the British Embassy in Lima produced a short video with the participation of British prisoners in the Sarita Colonia prison, Callao, on the potentially very serious consequences of smuggling drugs.
In 2010 the British Embassy in Lima produced a short video, “Drug Trafficking in South America: Easy Cash? Easy Caught!”. It was filmed with the participation of British prisoners in the Sarita Colonia prison, Callao, who volunteered to take part in order to help to alert people to the potentially very serious consequences of smuggling drugs. Hundreds of foreign nationals are held in prison in Peru, convicted of or facing charges of trafficking drugs. More than 30 of them are British nationals.
