Kiwi business leaders head to Scotland to scope out infrastructure opportunities
DIT and Infrastructure NZ to take infrastructure delegation to London, Glasgow and Edinburgh.
A group of 32 New Zealand organisations will travel to London and Scotland later this month as part of a week-long infrastructure delegation, led by Infrastructure New Zealand in partnership with the UK Department for International Trade (DIT).
Traveling to London, Glasgow and Edinburgh, the organisations will participate in an intensive programme of meetings and site visits to introduce them to top names in UK infrastructure and to see first-hand the innovation and advancement of infrastructure in England and Scotland. The delegation provides an opportunity to witness and transfer these learnings and best practice to our colleagues in the infrastructure sector in New Zealand.

Delegates will receive valuable insight into the UK’s most significant infrastructure projects, and have the chance to hear from high-profile leaders who have been at the forefront of these developments.
We hope the delegation will uncover opportunities for UK-NZ collaboration to support the significant growth occurring in both countries.
Beginning in London, the group will hear from the likes of Sir John Armitt, Deputy Chair of the National Infrastructure Commission and Martin Buck, Former Commercial Director at Crossrail. They will also participate in a number of site visits including Thames Tideway and Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
In Edinburgh, the focus will be on social infrastructure, transport and education and delegates will meet senior figures from Scottish Water and Scottish Futures Trust, among others. In Glasgow, a focus will be on urban regeneration and innovation.
The delegates represent a diverse cross-section of NZ infrastructure, including government and corporate. Accompanying the mission with be DIT NZ’s Senior Trade Development Manager, Jeannine Walsh, and CEO of Infrastructure NZ, Stephen Selwood.
