Judicial Pension Board appointment of an independent member

The Lord Chancellor has approved the appointment, by the Chair of the Judicial Pension Board, of Tim Mpofu as an independent member.

The Lord Chancellor has approved the appointment, by the Chair of the Judicial Pension Board (JPB), of Tim Mpofu as an independent member for 3 years from 9 March 2026.

The JPB was established under the Judicial Pension Regulations 2015 (the ‘regulations’). The JPB assists the Lord Chancellor to manage and govern the Judicial Pension Schemes by ensuring compliance with the regulations and other requirements.

Under the regulations, Independent Members of the JPB are appointed by the Chair with the approval of the Lord Chancellor.

The appointment of JPB Independent Members is regulated by the Commissioner for Public Appointments and recruitment processes align with the Governance Code on Public Appointments.

Biography

Tim is Head of Partner Fund Solutions at London CIV, a role he has held since January 2025, where he advises Local Government Pension Scheme administering authorities on governance, investment strategy and funding oversight. Previously, he was Head of Pensions and Treasury at the London Borough of Haringey (2021-2024), where he led the Pension Fund’s investment and administration functions.

He has extensive experience supporting pension fund committees, helping them strengthen governance frameworks and meet their fiduciary responsibilities. He is a CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) Charterholder and a Chartered Public Finance Accountant.
