The package of work, which included new road markings, installing new road signs, replacing sections of safety barrier and resurfacing sections of the roads, started in November and was completed ahead of schedule, by the end of May.

This work is part of Highways England’s commitment in the region to improve safety and ensure better journey experiences across the East region’s busiest roads.

Highways England service delivery team leader, Aran Nugent, said:

I’d like to thank drivers for their patience while we carried out this important work and I’m pleased to say we have now finished ahead of schedule.

This work will make the journeys better for local people and the drivers that use this road each day.
