The M62 will be resurfaced overnight on the westbound entry slip road at junction 31 and part of lane 1 on the westbound carriageway between Monday 16 May and Friday 27 May.

The work will be carried out overnight between 8pm and 6am Monday night to Friday morning and between 9pm and 10am Friday into Saturday and Saturday night into Sunday morning.

Highways England project manager Mark Ramsden said:

When complete, drivers will enjoy safer and smoother journeys along this stretch of the M62 near Castleford.

We are working hard to ensure disruption to traffic and local residents is kept to a minimum which is why work will be taking place overnight when traffic flows are lower.

During the resurfacing work, the entry slip road will be fully closed to traffic and drivers will be directed along a clearly signed diversion route via the A655 to junction 32 to join the M62 on the westbound carriageway. On the M62 westbound, lanes 1 and 2 will be closed for the work to take place, with traffic passing in lane 3.
