The A1 will be fully closed in both directions between Denwick and South Charlton while the work is carried out overnight between 8pm and 6am. It is expected to last 4 nights, subject to reasonable weather conditions.

Highways England project manager Steve Bishop said:

When complete, this project will provide drivers with safer and smoother journeys along this stretch of the A1 in Northumberland.

Every effort is being made to ensure disruption to traffic and local residents is kept to a minimum.
