Contractors for Highways England will be resurfacing sections of the westbound carriageway of the M62 between junction 37 at Howden and junction 38 starting on Monday 25 July.

As part of the work, which will mainly be carried out overnight, the white lines will be repainted and the reflective road studs will be replaced.

Work will mainly take place between 7pm and 7am, with some daytime lane closures at times to reduce the overall time needed to complete the scheme.

Highways England project manager Mark Ramsden said:

When complete, drivers will benefit from safer and smoother journeys along this stretch of the M62 near Goole.

We are working hard to ensure disruption to traffic and the local community is kept to a minimum which is why work will be taking place overnight when traffic levels are lower.

To carry out the work safely, the carriageway will be closed between junctions 36 and 38 with a clearly signed diversion in place.

Work is due to be completed by Friday 5 August, depending on reasonable weather conditions.
