Notes for Editors
The appointment follows an open competition.
The Prime Minister made the appointment on the recommendation of the Civil Service Commissioner and with the approval of the Chancellor.
Before returning to the Treasury in 2010, Indra worked for nine years at Accenture, in public service consulting from 2001 and as a Partner from 2005. Indra started her career in the Civil Service at the Department of Social Security (now the Department of Work and Pensions), where she worked on a range of issues including child support policy and housing benefit, and also undertook a secondment to the Treasury designing a new agency to bring together the Employment Service and Benefits Agency (now better known as Jobcentre Plus).
