The Secretary of State for Wales Cheryl Gillan attended Privy Council where Her Majesty the Queen approved the Welsh Seal today, 14th December 2011.

 Mrs Gillan said:

”Earlier this year the Coalition Government delivered its commitment to hold a referendum, the result of which has now given the Welsh Assembly some primary legislative powers.”

“The Assembly now has law-making powers within devolved areas and the new Welsh Seal will signify that Her Majesty has given her assent to an Assembly Act”
