Help shape business rates services

Would you like to help the Valuation Office Agency (VOA) improve its business rates services?

People coming up with ideas and writing them on sticky notes

We are looking for people who get a business rates bill to take part in research about business rates services.

The VOA sets the rateable values of all business, and other non-domestic, properties in England and Wales. Local councils use the rateable value to calculate a property’s business rates bill.

If you would like to help our research, you can sign-up for the GOV.UK user panel :

  • You’ll need to answer a few simple questions about yourself, which should take around 5 minutes. You do not need to be good with computers or the internet to join.
  • You can take part in the research sessions in person or online, and can always say no to a user panel invitation. You can also leave the panel at any time.
  • Research sessions typically last an hour and you may be compensated for your time.

Your participation in this research will have no impact on your own dealings with the VOA.

The information you give will be fully confidential and stored securely.

If you have questions about signing-up for research, please contact Amanda Rubython at amanda.rubython@hmrc.gov.uk.
