Heat networks enforcement by NMO

The National Measurement Office has been appointed as acting competent authority to enforce the heat networks legislation in the UK.

The Heat Networks (Metering and Billing Regulations 2014) was laid before parliament on the 26 November 2014. The National Measurement Office (NMO) has since been appointed as the acting competent authority for enforcing this legislation.

As part of their appointment, the NMO is responsible for assisting industry in understanding and complying with the legislation, as well as receiving notifications as detailed under regulation 4.

Guidance on complying with the heat networks legislation has been published by the NMO.
