Growing the Romanian Chevening alumni
The British Embassy in Bucharest reconnected with the local Chevening Alumni network at an event in March.

Nearly 60 scholars had the opportunity to meet old and new faces and speak to the Ambassador about their career progression. Guests included prominent Romanian figures such as a former Prime Minister, the Chief Economist of the Central Bank and a junior Defence minister.
The event was also an opportunity to feature GREAT British suppliers operating in Romania. Guests were treated a “taste of Britain”: a British style menu, ciders, beers and cheeses. British innovation was superbly served by Dyson, a company that seeks to gain a foothold in the Romanian market.
Following the networking event, the LinkedIn site for Romania Chevening Alumni has almost doubled in a week’s time.
