Patrick Commins of the Australian Financial Review

The GREAT Journalism Award gives Patrick, columnist and deputy markets editor at The Australian Financial Review, the opportunity to spend 10 days working from the Financial Times’ London offices; researching and writing business stories for an Australian audience.

Announcing the award today, Nick McInnes, British Consul General in Sydney and Director General of UK Trade & Investment Australia and New Zealand, noted that in a very high quality field:

Patrick’s application stood out as he demonstrated an excellent understanding of the relationship that exists between the UK and Australia through business, trade and investment. Patrick put forward a broad range of topics that I am sure will provide some very interesting perspectives on the economic relationship between our two countries. I look forward to reading the stories Patrick writes as a result of his time with the Financial Times.

Patrick will fly Business Class to London with British Airways. Nicole Backo, British Airways Regional Commercial Manager for South West Pacific, said:
