Foreign Office Minister saddened by Hong Kong ferry tragedy

Foreign Office Minister Hugo Swire said that thoughts and condolences are with everyone involved following a tragic ferry accident in Hong Kong on 1 October.

This was published under the 2010 to 2015 Conservative and Liberal Democrat coalition government

Speaking today the Foreign Office Minister said:

“I was deeply saddened by news of the tragic ferry accident in Hong Kong yesterday. We enjoy close historical and cultural ties with Hong Kong which mean that the tragedy will be felt particularly keenly in the UK. Our thoughts and sincere condolences are with everyone involved in or affected by the disaster.”
