As part of the Foreign Service Programme Laura will pursue a Master in Diplomatic Studies at Oxford University.

The British Ambassador in Uruguay, Ben Lyster-Binns, presented Laura with a certificate and silver tray engraved with her name, and those of former scholars.

At the event, Elianne Elbaum, Chevening scholar 2012, received her diploma after successfully finishing the Certificate in Diplomatic Studies in Oxford.

Both young ladies are diplomats at the Uruguayan Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Chevening scholarships are awarded every year to young leaders in more than 116 countries who have the potential to become future key players in a wide range of areas. The Chevening Programme gives them the chance to enjoy a world-class international experience in the UK, as well as access to a global network of young leaders.

The next call for applications, for the 2014-2015 scholarships, ends on 15 November 2013. Information on how to apply can be found in the Chevening Scholarships website
