Embassy announces Startup competition winners

Five companies will go to the UK to take part in the Digital Shoreditch annual festival.

Five companies have been chosen to represent Brazil in London in the Digital Shoreditch annual festival in May this year. The event, which celebrates the creative, technical and enterprising talent of Tech City, regarded as the British ‘Silicon Valley’ for harboring many innovative companies in technology, will feature the winners of the Startups competition UK-Brazil. Meia Bandeirada (SP), Feelbr (RJ), iOasys (MG), TodaBossa (RS) and Icare Games (PE) were the companies that submitted the winning projects of the regional stage of the competition organized by UK Trade & Investment (UKTI), British government department that promotes international trade and investment.

The competition, organized in partnership with regional entities - Slumdog Beta (SP), Fumsoft (MG), Tecnopuc (RS), Porto Digital (PE) and RioSoft (RJ) – is part of the UKBrasil Season, a series of initiatives to present the very best in the UK in areas such as arts, science, culture, design, education, business, innovation and technology.

Know the companies:

Meia Bandeirada:

It is a platform that helps control geographically, manage and optimize the cost of transportation of staff in companies and also brings an innovative solution for sharing paths.

Feelbr:

The Feelbr developed an innovative research tool that assists in decision-making and can be used by small and large companies, as well as professionals. Its methodology aims to change the concept of research conducted in the market, and had his emergence from scientific studies on intangible assets, Balanced ScoreCard (BSC) and indicators of perception.

iOasys:

Founded in 2012, the iOasys Startup is a mining focused on developing solutions for mobile platforms. The company developed the app Passes Rule, which facilitates the sharing of accounts of bars and restaurants.

TodaBossa:

The Toda Bossa Slow Design is a company that develops and sells products with design together with Brazilian artists through illustrators, managers and suppliers who were united by crowdsourcing and social networks.

Icare Games:

The ICare, company embedded in Recife’s Porto Digital, focused on the development of serious games, running in social networks, has the mission of transmitting values to the player through experience with the game.

UKBrasil Season The UKBrasil Season, which occurred from September 2012 to March 2013, brought together a number of initiatives to provide the very best of the UK in areas such as arts, science, culture, design, education, business, innovation and technology. Aiming to explore the great opportunities from the UK-Brazil connection, more than 80 projects were developed in partnership between the two organizations to ensure a regional and diverse calendar.
