Dstl to exhibit and present at defence procurement event

Dstl will be attending DPRTE in Cardiff on 8 October 2014.

Defence Procurement, Research, Technology & Exportability 2014

The Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl) is partnering with Defence Procurement, Research, Technology & Exportability (DPRTE) 2014. The event in Cardiff on 8 October 2014 allows both the Ministry of Defence (MOD) and industry to connect and explore the key challenges, programmes and future opportunities that exist within the defence acquisition supply chain.

For industry, DPRTE 2014 will provide an opportunity to gain access to defence procurement buyers, including Dstl. Dstl delivers the MOD’s Science and Technology (S&T) programme, as well as exploiting the knowledge gained for wider MOD and other government departments’ use in operations, policy and procurement. Around 60 per cent of the £400 million MOD S&T programme is delivered externally to Dstl by around 900 suppliers. Over the next few years, Dstl will place an even greater percentage externally, representing a significant opportunity for suppliers.

Dstl will have a stand in DPRTE’s Research and Technology zone, where visitors will be able to meet senior executives and find out how to work with Dstl. In addition, Dstl’s Dr David Massey will give a presentation about Dstl’s Science & Technology Strategy; and Ed Rochead will make a presentation regarding the work Dstl is doing on disruptive capabilities.
