Deputy Prime Minister City Deals meeting

At a roundtable meeting in Admiralty House, London with all the wave 2 City Deal areas Nick Clegg heard about their flagship proposals, their thoughts on the process and how best to allocate the Single Local Growth Fund.

The Deputy Prime Minister outlined how City Deals are spearheading local growth:

“Yesterday, we confirmed that £2 billion will go into the Single Local Growth Fund - the ‘Heseltine Pot’ - in 2015, and this is just the start. My ambition is that the pot will only get bigger and the control greater.

“[City leaders have] brought ideas to the table that will unleash massive potential, unlock investment in infrastructure schemes that have stalled and provide a significant and sustainable boost for economic growth. City Deals are a quiet revolution in the way Britain is governed.”
