CONFAP announces approved projects under call with UK Academies

In total, 96 projects were submitted, from which 55 will be supported.

Brazilian National Council of State Funding Agencies (CONFAP) announced the approved projects on the call Fellowships, Research Mobility and Young Investigator. The call was launched in partnership with UK Academies under the scope of Newton Fund and enables the coming of British researchers to Brazil to develop their studies with Brazilian partners for periods that vary from two weeks to four years. In total, 96 projects were submitted, from which 55 will be supported. 17 State Funding Agencies (FAPs) were involved in the call, and 11 of them had projects selected. The FAPs will give counterpart to the amount invested by Newton Fund.

The call was launched in July 2015 and closed the submission in October. Due to the great quantity of submitted projects, there was a delay on the announcement of the results, previously scheduled to December.
