The global Chevening alumni network has reached the 50,000 mark. This landmark figure was announced at a farewell event held in London. The event also saw the participation of 63 scholars from Pakistan who are currently in the UK on the Chevening scholarship.
Of the 50,000 Chevening alumni globally, over 1,650 are from Pakistan.
The Chevening alumni comprise an influential and highly regarded global network. In September 2018, the next batch of Chevening scholars from Pakistan will proceed to the UK to commence their programme.
The Acting British High Commissioner Richard Crowder said:

The Chevening Pakistan alumni network are an active and influential network that have achieved great things for Pakistan and further strengthened the UK-Pakistan relationship. I would like to congratulate Chevening scholars in Pakistan and around the world on reaching this landmark.

It gives me great pleasure to congratulate the Chevening alumni network for having reached a global membership of 50,000. The Chevening alumni network provides an amazing opportunity for its members to network & interact in a number of different ways. This enables sharing of best practices, learning, career growth, development opportunities and working together for the betterment of society.
Having been a Chevening Scholar in 1996-97, this has provided me a platform to continually benefit from and contribute to the Chevening community.
