Changes to notarial services
Berne will no longer issue Civil Status Declarations to British Nationals residing in Switzerland and getting married in Switzerland.
As of 1 August 2013 the British Embassy Berne will no longer be issuing Civil Status Declarations to British Nationals residing in Switzerland who wish to get married in Switzerland. British nationals residing in Switzerland will declare their civil status for the purpose of getting married in Switzerland directly at their respective Civil Register Office in Switzerland. Please contact your Civil Register Office directly to find out more on how you can obtain the Civil Status Declaration and what documents you will need to present.
