The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) is introducing changes to the way British Embassies provide services to British nationals overseas. The FCO’s Consular Strategy 2013-2016 includes a worldwide plan to streamline and simplify our notarial and documentary services, allowing staff to concentrate on helping the more vulnerable and distressed British nationals. Working towards this objective, from Monday 7 April 2014, notarial and documentary services will only be available at the British Embassy in Rabat – staff at our Honorary Consulates in Agadir, Tangier and Marrakech will no longer be able to carry out such services.

Our notarial and documentary services guide details exactly what services we can provide for you. You should check the guide first to ensure that you can obtain the service from us and cannot do so from, for example, a local lawyer. If you require a service not listed under those we provide, and believe that you need to obtain a document from us, please email us at rabat.consular@fco.gov.uk for advice.

You must make an appointment to visit the Consular Section at the British Embassy in Rabat. Appointments are available from 0800-1200, Monday to Friday. If you are travelling to Rabat from far away, and cannot attend the Embassy during this time, please email us at rabat.consular@fco.gov.uk and we will try and accommodate you at a mutually convenient time.
